We’re delighted to introduce you to Validate, a Santander Open Innovation Challenge. In this challenge you'll have the chance to submit and test your own ideas, and, if selected, see them become a reality by exploring them alongside our innovation experts.
This educational microsite gives you an overview of tips, tools, and techniques you can reference to help you on your innovation journey
We are searching for the brightest ideas within these categories:
Whether you're starting to build your innovation muscle, or developing it, we've created a guide to help you. These are the steps you must follow to succeed in Validate or any other innovation initiative.
So… How does it work?
In the first stage everyone at Santander is invited to sign up, submit their ideas, and engage with the ideas others have submitted. Once there is a considerable amount of ideas, we will narrow to approximately 50 based on the engagement they’ve received.
After exploring their ideas further with additional support and coaching, these 50 will be narrowed to up to a couple dozen. Santander Leaders from around the world will take into account engagement with the ideas alongside their performance in our innovation scorecard to identify the teams that will progress to the next stage.
The teams behind the selected ideas will receive more personalized support from innovation experts and additional time to fully validate their ideas, problem space, and solution. They will then present to a Leadership Committee made up of Senior Santander Executives who will select handful ideas which will move to the next phase, where they will be built over a 90 days period.
We are looking forward to acting as your guide on this path of learning, as you showcase your imagination and talent. Join Validate and flex your innovation muscle with us!
INTRODUCTION TO INNOVATION
Innovation isn’t just about building ideas out of the blue, but is about the process of uncovering new ways to do things. It can lead us to modifying business models and adapting to changing markets or customer needs to achieve better products and services. It is not a fluffy concept disconnected from the business, or a feel-good factor to make us feel involved in our transformation mission. Innovation at Santander should lead to ideas that add value to our customers, lead to business growth and profitability, and help us to solve for ongoing change over the next 3-5 years and beyond.
So push yourself to keep an open mind and consider what this way of working can mean not just for your participation in this challenge but for your role here at Santander. Innovation is a mindset and a way of working that places the customers at the center. It offers a solution-based approach to solving problems that can be used for developing new products/services or answering a single question.
